With Christmas less than 2 weeks away, everyone's getting busy buying presents, decorations, and most importantly, lots of food to celebrate the best Christmas possible.

However, before you get swept away by the thrill and excitement of the festive season, did you know that Christmas poses several health risks to anyone during the celebratory period? Thus, here are 4 tips you should take note of to enjoy a healthier and memorable Christmas!

1. Eat in moderation
We get it. No one can resist the urge to dig in when there's a table full of delicious food waiting to be eaten. However, overeating can lead to a host of problems such as bloating, indigestion, and obesity. If you find yourself reaching out for a second round, take 20 minutes to let the food settle into your stomach and you might find that you're actually not that hungry and avoid the extra pounds too!

2. Don't sit for too long
After enjoying a full meal, our first response is to slouch on the sofa and laze around or even binge watch on a series of movies. But doing so will increase your chances of stuffing more junk food into your mouth. As such, make an effort to be up and about for around 10-15 minutes before considering to plop yourself back into a chair.

3. Drink responsibly
Aside from an array of homecooked delicacies, alcoholic drinks are also in abundance during Christmas celebrations. While it doesn't hurt to have a glass or two, be aware of your limits and if you're unable to drive, have a friend of family member give you a lift home.

4. Prepare healthier meals
It may sound impossible, but choosing a healthier alternative is always doable with a little initiative and planning. Instead of preparing food high in calories and fat, try to include some fruits into the menu as this will help decrease the likelihood of overindulging in food that may open the door for deadly diseases to take foot.

That being said, Jion Pharmacy would like to wish everyone a merry and healthy Christmas! HO HO HO!
